WOCAD (Women´s Organisations Committe on Alcohol and Drug Issues) has received funding from SIDA / Forum Syd for a pilot study in Senegal in collaboration with WOCAD´s member organisation SKR (Sveriges Kvinno- och tjejjourers Riksförbund)
Cooperation partner in Senegal is NGO PFPC (Plateforme for women for peace in Casamance),AKLVF (Organisation against violence against women in Kafountine) and The organisation for youth in Kafountine, which caters to the most marginalized groups, including women and girls in rural areas who are victims of violence and oppression, in order to enhance their ability to mobilize and integrate into civil society.
The overall objective of the project is to empower women and girls to seize their human rights, mobilize women empowerment, prevention of violence and oppression against women and girls, increasing support and protection opportunities for vulnerable women.
WOCAD was represented by Britt Fredenman and Ruth Arvidsson 1-7 March 2014.
